A new law dubbed the, “Right to Disconnect Law,” says that French employers must specify certain hours when workers will not have to respond to, or even check, their work email. The French government says the law will "ensure the respect of rest time and vacation, as well as personal and family life." Peter S. Vogel is a Partner with the law firm Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP in Dallas, Texas, where he serves as Chair of the e-Discovery Team and Co-Chair of the Technology Industry Practice Group. Mr. Vogel holds a Masters in Computer Science and a Certificate in Data Processing, and has worked as a programmer, systems analyst, graduate school lecturer and management consultant. He has written and lectured nationally on computer law topics, including the Internet, e-Commerce, and the e-Discovery. Mr. Vogel served as President of the Dallas Bar Association. Since 1997, he has served as Chair of the Texas Supreme Court Judicial Committee on Information Technology.
He also serves as a Court Ordered Mediator and Special Master in Computer e-Discovery, Technology, and Internet Matters.
