James P. Bobotek is a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP. His practice concentrates on a variety of insurance coverage, risk management and risk allocation issues, with an emphasis on those arising in the construction industry.

Mr. Bobotek counsels clients in formulating risk management strategies, obtaining insurance coverage, developing contractual insurance requirements, analysis and resolution of insurance coverage claims and disputes, and all phases of development and construction of commercial properties, including preparation, review and negotiation of development, design, construction, design-build, and related agreements.

Mr. Bobotek has experience in litigation before federal and state courts, arbitral tribunals, and judicial and private mediators, with a focus on representing corporate policyholders seeking to confirm insurance coverage involving builder’s risk, CGL, professional liability, pollution, commercial property, business interruption, fidelity, D&O and other policies.

Mr. Bobotek received a B.A., with distinction, from George Mason University in 1995 and received a J.D. from Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in 1995. He is admitted to practice in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia.
